Live music can be an incredibly immersive experience that can take listeners to new emotional and sensory places. However, the traditional modes of engagement focus primarily on auditory perception, which can limit the connection between the listener, their body, and the music itself.
While sound is undoubtedly the core element, the human experience encompasses a multitude of senses. This project proposes the development of a Synesthetic Couture prototype – wearable technology that integrates real-time audio analysis, fiber optics, and audio-reactive visuals. By utilizing real-time analysis, the optical fibers woven into the fabric will respond to the music's rhythm and illuminate as dynamic lighting effects. Additionally, audio-reactive visuals projected onto the surroundings will further immerse the wearer in the soundscape.
